Beautiful Art Deco coaster / casserole dish holder, silver-plated – Sheffield, circa 1920s
Elegant, round Art Deco coaster made of silver-plated metal with two curved, C-shaped handles. The piece stands on four decoratively cast feet and catches the eye with its attractive, openwork geometric pattern, typical of the design language of the 1920s.
Originally designed as a holder for gratin dishes, this versatile object is now also commonly used as a planter or jardinière.
Manufactured by William R. Shirtcliffe & Son, Sheffield, England, circa 1920.

Very good antique condition. The silver plating is well preserved, with no visible wear. Only a few small dark marks on the inner rim and on the handles, due to age and hardly noticeable.
