Lampe Hibou, a bronze and frosted glass owl lamp dating to 1998, by Tin Chi, in working order, with a height of 23.5 cm, width 14 cm and depth 15 cm, originating from China.
Description from the seller
A superb decorative figurative lamp depicting an owl, made of patinated bronze and frosted glass, and signed Tin Chi.
This piece elegantly combines animal sculpture with ambient lighting, offering an object with a strong decorative presence.
The luminous body is made of molded frosted glass, finely textured to evoke plumage, while the head and base are in richly worked bronze, resting on a sculpted base reminiscent of a tree trunk.
The base bears the molded signature “Tin Chi” as well as the date 1996, visible in the photos, attesting to an authentic creation from the late 20th century.
When lit, the lamp emits a soft, warm light, highlighting the reliefs of the glass and the patina of the bronze, ideal for a hushed, intimate atmosphere in a living room, a library, or a bedroom.
Style
The style of this lamp is rooted in a decorative aesthetic inspired by the Tiffany spirit, through the use of luminous glass as a central element, while clearly setting itself apart:
This is not leaded stained glass, but molded frosted glass, conceived to interact with the bronze sculpture.
The ensemble is primarily in the decorative figurative style of the late 20th century, at the crossroads of the art object, animal sculpture, and ambient lamp.
