In a stylish, understated living room, two 40 x 60 cm canvases burst into the minimal atmosphere with force. This giclée diptych is more than mere contemporary decor: it is a visual manifesto, a celebration of pop culture and a re-interpretation of digital icons through the lens of luxury and power. The protagonists, Sonic and Megaman, two legends from the video game universe, confront the viewer from their respective thrones as urban monarchs, bearing traces of attitude, strength, and symbolic presence.
In the first piece, Sonic, the blue hedgehog who redefined speed in the nineties, sits on a throne draped in red and covered with the Louis Vuitton monogram. But this is not the playful, speedy Sonic of the past: his narrowed eyes convey determination, his stance is defiant, and his attire, with an open leather jacket and worn boots, evokes a punk, almost nihilist attitude. The bandages on his arms and the peeling texture of the background speak of a continual battle, not against pixelated villains, but against oblivion, obsolescence, and the weight of legacy. Here, Sonic is a cultural warrior who has survived time, seated like an emperor among golden ruins.
In contrast, the second work presents Megaman, the iconic blue robot, as an unmoving sentinel of digital order. His presence is more stoic, almost ceremonial. Seated on a throne of the same visual luxury, but with a more frontal and symmetrical attitude, Megaman bears no obvious signs of wear; instead, his armor is pristine, reflecting control and structure. The artist emphasizes the details of his suit with Louis Vuitton patterns, as if the luxury symbol is an integral part of his design. Instead of gloves or weapons, what dominates here is the seriousness of his gaze and the geometry of his posture: he is a digital knight, a figure of authority and mechanical elegance.
Both pieces play with the visual language of luxury —Louis Vuitton as a universal emblem— to confront it with characters born from the modesty of pixels. This clash between humble origins and the aesthetics of status transforms the diptych into a visual discourse on the evolution of gamer culture and its integration into contemporary art. They are no longer mere video game characters: they have become archetypes, totems of nostalgia demanding their place in the art salon with the same authority as a Renaissance deity.
"Tronos de Poder Pixelado" is a visual allegory about transformation, the prestige earned through effort, and the irony of luxury applied to the digital world. Sonic and Megaman, from their thrones, look at us not as figures of the past, but as kings of a realm that is no longer made of bits, but of global culture."
