Valentin Prévot's work is realistic and figurative. Through his drawings and paintings, he undertakes a political and identitarian research process on his history and that of his family. His current artistic work aims to pay homage to him but also to preserve his ideas and his journey, to anchor them in time.
With the help of portraits, paintings/drawings as well as the desire to understand and appropriate this history, Valentin has been working for several months now on a series of “graphic objects” and installations intended to complete this archival background, to add his perspective, his sensitivity and his voice as an artist.
Some of his works are inspired by Schiele, Kokoschka but also by German expressionists such as Dix and Grosz. The central theme of his work is the question of transmissions and intergenerational traumas. Valentin has understood that through this history he could address all the subjects that personally concern him, such as identity, the work of research and transmission, ideological, philosophical and political excesses...
