Description from the seller
Description of the work:
In the heart of a frozen landscape, a wolf stands upright, motionless, facing the gaze of the observer.
His paws anchor themselves in the cracked ice, between dark water and frozen slabs, as if he belonged to this in-between: neither completely still, nor in motion.
Behind him, the Nordic mountains rise, massive, austere, almost mineral. The sky is heavy, charged, and silent. Everything seems suspended.
The wolf shows neither aggression nor fear. He is there. Present. Vigilant.
His gaze is calm, deep, and ancient.
He doesn't try to impress. He commands respect by his mere presence.
This photograph evokes quiet strength, embraced solitude, and the raw connection to nature.
A world without noise, without artifices, where the essential returns to its place.

Artist’s note:
The wolf has always spoken to me deeply.
He is close to humans, almost familiar, and yet irredeemably wild.
He knows the pack, but he also knows solitude.
He walks alone, never getting lost.
In his gaze, I see something that I feel myself:
the need for silence, for distance from the world, without rejecting it.
The wolf explains nothing. He observes. He watches over.
I love dogs for their loyalty, their simple and sincere presence.
The wolf, for his part, goes further: he embodies inner freedom, the kind that cannot be negotiated.
To be there, standing, intact, even in the cold, even in isolation.
Gardien des Glaces is an ode to this silent force.
She who does not cry out, does not reveal herself, but remains.
