Wolfgang Wieland (XX) created Im Zentrum diffus in Acryl painting, an Original edition from the 1990s, framed and measuring 86 cm by 68 cm, originating from Germany in the Abstrakter Expressionismus style.
Description from the seller
The present artwork originates from the German artist Wolfgang Wieland, who worked in Freising. The work bears the title “Im Zentrum des Aktes” handwritten by the artist on the reverse side and was created in 1995. It is a unique piece in mixed-media technique, executed with acrylic paints and additional materials on canvas. The canvas is stretched on a stretcher frame and is additionally mounted in a simple wooden frame.
The painting is signed and dated by hand on the front, bottom right, with 'Wiel. 94'. On the back there is another hand-written inscription by the artist with the title 'Im Zentrum d. Aktes' (In the Center of the Act), which further confirms the authenticity and unequivocal attribution of the work. The execution, the expressive brushwork, as well as the gestural-abstract pictorial language are typical for the artist's work in the 1990s.
The provenance is fully documented. The work was acquired in 1995 as part of a bundle of several works by Wolfgang Wieland. The total price for this bundle was 2,600 DM. Since the purchase, the painting has been in private ownership. Separate certificates of authenticity or expert opinions are not available, which is common for the direct acquisition of contemporary artists of this generation; the combination of signature, dating and the back-side title is regarded as sufficient proof of authenticity.
The condition of the work is overall good. The surface of the image shows no noticeable damage, cracks, or restorations. There are only minor signs of wear due to age and storage, especially on the back and on the frame, which do not affect the overall impression.
The artwork is framed and stretched on a stretcher frame and shipped. Because of the rigid frame, protective shockproof packaging is recommended. The dimensions of the artwork, the canvas, and the frame have not yet been documented and should be added for a complete cataloging.
Wieland was active locally in Freising, with reference to exhibitions such as at the Museion ('Realm of the Muses'). Abstract-expressionist style with gestural painting.
