A vintage Poortwachters clock from Spain, circa 1970–1980, with a wood-structured case, mechanical movement powered by a weight and counterweight, a 1-day power reserve, no striking, dimensions 38×14×12 cm, weight about 4 kg, no winding key, in good condition with minor signs of age and in working order, comprising four items.

Gatekeepers Clock
A vintage-style antique gatekeeper clock from the 16th century.
Period circa 1970–1980 of Spanish origin.
A clock with a wooden framework featuring a balance scale, i.e. powered by a weight and counterweight, where the balance with weights swings back and forth.
This is the escapement regulator -echappement- of the clock.
By moving the weights on the governor, one controls the operating speed. Cabinet size: 38×14×12 cm.
Manufacturing: Sananman in Spain
This timepiece has more of a decorative function than a timekeeping one.
A touch of nostalgia in the modern interior.
