6 beautiful wood engravings by Frans Masereel from a private collection. The plates measure 27.5 by 19.3 cm, the engravings measure 15.5 by 11.5 cm. They are part of the 1964-published collection 'Mijn land'.
Frans Masereel (July 31, 1889 – January 3, 1972) was a Flemish painter and graphic artist who worked mainly in France, and was best known for his woodcuts that foregrounded political and social themes, such as war and capitalism. He completed more than 40 wordless novels in his career.
