Description:
In Fading, form slowly dissolves into color. Warm red and earth tones move through a soft, diffuse light and seem to find each other and then lose each other again. The image breathes stillness and quiet, as if the moment hovers just between memory and disappearance.

The paint is applied in layers, with transparent and more opaque areas alternating. Subtle vertical and horizontal streaks suggest structure, but remain open and fragile. Toward the edges the image fades, giving the work a dreamlike and timeless character.

Fading invites slow looking. In changing light, new nuances continually reveal themselves, as if the painting moves with the space in which it hangs.
