Dadaist painter in New York and surrealist photographer in the City of Light, Man Ray was one of the most important figures of the entire twentieth century. Capable of exploring any expressive language in his quest, the artist managed to move between sculpture, graphic design, painting, photography, and cinema, giving life to a body of works of inestimable value.
Le Violon d’Ingres is undoubtedly his most famous shot. Created in 1924 to portray his beloved Kiki de Montparnasse, the photograph is today housed at the Musée National d’Art Moderne, housed in the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
Photo in excellent condition, sold with its elegant black cardboard display mat.
