About the artist:
Yamila Velázquez (Las Tunas, Cuba, 1993) is a contemporary artist who uses digital intelligence tools; she currently lives and works in Alicante, Spain. Owner and partner of a company dedicated to selling, representing, and developing artists and artworks, Velázquez combines her entrepreneurial vision with deep artistic sensibility.
This young Cuban talent has established herself in the field of digital art, using contemporary media to explore topics related to nature, landscape, and the intimate relationship between a woman and her surroundings. Her works subtly and forcefully address themes such as beauty, love, sensuality, and feminine delicacy, always framed in enveloping, romantic, and refined atmospheres.
With a vibrant and expressive aesthetic, Yamila Velázquez manages to fuse classical influences with a modern language, resulting in versatile, fresh, and deeply evocative works. The pictorial texture of her images, masterful use of color, and emotionally balanced composition position her work as a contemporary artistic proposal of high aesthetic value.
Shipping and presentation:
The work will be carefully packaged by a professional and shipped in a rigid cardboard tube, internally protected with bubble wrap to ensure its integrity during transport. Shipments are made through reliable courier companies such as UPS, FedEx, or Correos España, depending on destination and the most convenient option in each case.
The estimated delivery time is 7 to 10 days, though it may vary depending on the destination country.
The work achieves a sophisticated balance between the industrial aesthetics of vinyl toys and the organic delicacy of Oriental classical art. The Squirtle surface is not smooth or perfect; it is traversed by a network of golden “scars” that emulate the veining of marble and the maki-e technique. This integration suggests that even icons from our childhood are subject to the passage of time and life experience.
When applying this concept to the character, the author emphasizes that ruptures should not be hidden but celebrated. The golden lines are not defects, but witnesses to a history of overcoming. The Squirtle figure, traditionally associated with protection (its shell), takes on here a new dimension: the protection of one’s own vulnerability.
