A decorative 18-drawer cabinet in dark wood dating from the 20th century, hand-painted with a maritime scene on the top and a subtle gold border, measuring 50 cm wide by 30 cm high by 24 cm deep and made in the Netherlands.
Description from the seller
Highly decorative 18-drawer cabinet with a pronounced maritime theme. The top is hand-painted with an elegant three-masted sailing ship at sea, framed by a subtle gold-colored border. The sides feature crossed cannons with a anchor – a powerful nautical motif that gives this piece a unique look.
The front consists of 18 small drawers, each fitted with a round knob and geometric decoration in gold and ochre tones. This type of cabinet was often used for storing small objects such as coins, jewelry, sewing supplies, or collectibles, but today it is mainly cherished as a decorative collector's piece.
The cabinet is finished in dark-painted wood and stands on ball-shaped feet. The hand-painting and the motif suggest a mid-20th-century object, possibly made as a curiosa or display cabinet.
In good vintage condition.
• Minor signs of aging consistent with use and age
• A few scratches and light damage to the corners (see photos)
• The paintwork is still clear and atmospheric, with normal wear
