Description from the seller
In a Haussmannian interior bathed in nocturnal light, two women embody both elegance and mystery. One, lying on a leather sofa, dressed in black, gazes at the viewer with calm confidence. The other, standing near the open window overlooking the Parisian rooftops, turns for a moment, as if caught between the desire to leave and the urge to stay. Yack depicts a silent tension between shadow and light, between inward gaze and outward escape. The composition, with an almost cinematic realism, evokes Hopper or Helmut Newton, while maintaining a very painterly, sensual, and contemporary touch.
It is a suspended scene—a visual confidence where the unspoken becomes the true subject of the painting.
