Description from the seller
Sven-Ole Frahm is a German artist, born in 1972 in Bonn and based in Berlin. He studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and has received distinctions such as the Bergischer Kunstpreis and the Villa Romana Prize.
His work explores the boundaries between painting and object art. Frahm treats the canvas as material: he cuts, sews and reconstructs it, creating relief, openings and shadows. His abstract compositions balance between geometry and expression, with emphasis on material, structure and space rather than mere color and imagery.
In this work Sven-Ole Frahm investigates the tension between order and chance, structure and erosion. Two diagonal lines – one light green, one deep black – cut the plane in dynamic directions, as if capturing a moment of movement within a still space.
Viewing is of course possible. Additionally we have our own in-house framing workshop, celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore we make use of restorers from the trade association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this service, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
