Description from the seller
Matter becomes thought. In my works, the fabric is not a mere backdrop, but the protagonist of an entanglement that becomes sculpture. Each knot is a bond, every metallic reflection is a new light on an old memory.
The work explores the tension between matter and space. The surface is no longer a passive support, but a living body that folds and knots under the pull of a central force. The monochrome red emphasizes the visceral nature of the gesture: the folds of fabric, stiffened and intertwined, create a nucleus of energy that seems to seek to hold back or release a deep emotion. It is a dialogue between the order of the structure and the chaos of the fiber.
Red evokes primal passions, urgency, and vitality. It represents warmth and flesh, making the interweaving resemble a muscular or vascular system.
The Knot as Identity. The stage name "Lucia Nei Nodi" finds here its full expression. The knot is a powerful archetype: it represents connection, obstruction, memory, but also the strength to hold together fragmented parts. In this work, the knots seem to tell stories of lived experience, moments of stoppage and subsequent restart, transforming the "tangle" of life into an orderly structure endowed with its own intrinsic beauty.
