Original 1969 offset lithography exhibition poster for Miró, otro by Gráfica Bachs, printed in Spain, measuring 68 × 47 cm, unsigned, in acceptable condition.
Description from the seller
offset lithography
Original exhibition poster created for the occasion of the show “Miró, otro”, held between April and May 1969 at the Official College of Architects of Catalonia and Balearic Islands (COAC) in Barcelona.
This exhibition is historically relevant for its critical rereading of Joan Miró as a radical, anti-institutional figure in the context of late Francoist Spain. One of the project’s central elements was the ephemeral mural intervention carried out by Miró on the façade of the COAC building, created specifically for the exhibition and deliberately removed at the end of the show in June 1969. This gesture, documented at the time, highlighted concepts such as impermanence, authorship, and resistance to institutional appropriation, and contributed to the controversial nature of the exhibition.
This poster was printed in offset by Gráfica Bachs and preserves the original legal deposit B. 15.220 – 1969, which confirms that it is an original vintage poster and not a later reproduction.
It is a significant example of Spanish exhibition poster design from the late 1960s, particularly relevant for Miró collectors, for the postwar avant-garde, and for posters linked to critical and institutional artistic practices.
