Johannes Bochmann (1922) - Am Tümpel

Oil painting on canvas attributed to Johannes (Joh.) Bochmann (Germany, born in 1922), depicting a evocative Alpine landscape with mountains, pines and a reflective pool in the foreground. Approximate period 1950–1970.

The work is executed in an academic realism style, typical of Central European landscape painting in the mid-20th century.

The balanced composition, the delicate use of light and the atmospheric handling of depth are consistent with other works by the artist that have appeared at auctions and in private collections.

The painting is signed at the lower left “Joh. Bochmann”.

On the back of the canvas there are:
- handwritten inscription: “Joh. Bochmann – ‘Am Tümpel’”,
- stamp of the canvas producer, visible and documented in the photographs,
- original canvas mounted on a wooden frame.

The photographs of the back are included and form an integral part of the artwork’s documentation.

The painting presents itself in overall excellent condition, with normal and slight signs of wear consistent with age.

The original frame shows some small plaster losses at a few points (see photos), due to the natural passage of time, structurally solid.
