Description from the seller

In a raw, almost subterranean space, two male bodies embrace in a silent struggle. The scene, rendered in black and white, wipes away all distraction to focus the gaze on the physical and emotional tension that unites the two figures. Here, strength is not only muscular: it is also inner, fragile, human.

The ambiguity of the gesture — combat or embrace — creates an open reading. Bodies support one another as much as they confront each other, as if balance could exist only through the other. The industrial backdrop, cold and impersonal, reinforces the vulnerability of this scene that is deeply intimate.

The work interrogates masculinity, domination, dependence, and the need for contact. It evokes the gravity of bodies, but also that of human relationships, where power and fragility coexist. A painting that is both intense and meditative, rooted in a contemporary figurative tradition nourished by classical references and a modern sensibility.

The work explores the notion of inner light, this discreet force that persists even in moments of solitude or doubt. Nudity is not shown as exposure, but as an embraced vulnerability, protected by the gesture and by the light itself.
