Description from the seller

Lode Sebregts (1906 - 2002) was a Belgian painter, watercolorist and draftsman of flowers, figures, nudes, portraits, cityscapes and still lifes. He was also a set and costume designer at the Royal Dutch Theatre of Antwerp. Until 1974 he was the poster designer for the city of Antwerp. Also reverse-glass painting, Églomisé, was not unknown to him.
Sebregts pursued his training at the Academy of Antwerp and the NHISKA under Isidoor Opsomer, Albert Saverys, and Edward Pellens. Later he worked as a teacher at SISA and the Studio Herman Teirlinck.
Lode Sebregts was also a staunch pipe smoker, and thus he was elected twice by the Sinjoren-pijpeniersgilde as "Pipe-maker of the Year". The work of Lode Sebregts is present in the Print Cabinet, the Royal Museum of Fine Arts, the Maritime Museum, and the AMVC in Antwerp.
