Work description
This original acrylic work by Helmut Gerigk exemplifies his surrealist visual language, fusing dream, symbolism, and figurative precision. In a finely worked composition, a poetic image-world unfolds, thematizing the unconscious and the metaphysical—typical of Gerigk’s “Surrealism for Our Time.”
The work impresses with clear, controlled brushwork, combined with surreal elements that open up associative spaces and invite the viewer to inner reflection. Despite its compact format, the piece has a strong visual presence and is well suited for private collections as well as for sophisticated interiors.
Short biography of the artist
Helmut Gerigk (born 1953 in Wiesbaden) is a German surrealist artist and autodidact. In the 1970s he visited Salvador Dalí several times in Cadaqués (Spain) and later worked with Dalí's associate Ernst Fuchs. Gerigk stands in the tradition of classical Surrealism and deliberately distances himself from Pop Art and fleeting art movements. His works have been exhibited at home and abroad and are an expression of a consistent, timeless surrealist stance.
