Lot of 18 pieces, in bone, briar, Bakelite, and cherry wood, from the Cassano Pipe manufacture, Italy.

Unique pieces; they are prototypes that never went into production.

The briar pieces are stamped "bruyère ‹brüi̯èer›" (the burl, i.e., the swollen part of the root, used to make pipes, mouthpieces, and tobacco jars).

In the lot, a box of “Harrods” matches from the 1970s (the matches themselves are current), and a crude, unfinished prototype of a “cigarette pipe” that still shows the pilot holes for the finishing.

Two pieces contain the original filters from that era.

All the pieces in the lot are intact and have never been used.
