Grzegorz Gust, Susza, acrylic painting, original, 40 × 100 cm (vertical panorama), signed, 2025, abstract, nature depiction, Poland.
Description from the seller
This painting is my personal story about the harshness of nature and the inexorable passage of time. While working on “The Drought,” I aimed for an almost tactile effect — a work that invites touch to feel under the fingers the texture of cracked, thirsting earth.
I used my own techniques for layering acrylics, which created a structural, dense network of cracks and 'craters'. Light falling on the painting from different angles reveals increasingly new details, making the canvas 'live' depending on the time of day.
Warm ochers, coppers, browns, and muted golds dominate here. This color palette, even with the raw subject matter, brings calm, warmth, and an organic balance to the interior.
The 40×100 cm dimensions (the so-called vertical panorama) make the artwork fit perfectly in modern living rooms, bedrooms, or offices — especially in spaces that require a vertical accent, such as pillars or niches.
“Drought” is not merely a depiction of a natural phenomenon. It is a metaphor for a state of spirit, a search for essence, and the stripping of reality of superfluous adornments. It is an image for someone who, in art, seeks authenticity, structure, and contact with matter.
The painting is signed, ready to hang (the painted edges form a natural frame).

Grzegorz Gust is a Polish contemporary artist whose works place the search for harmony between nature and painterly form at the center. His painting is characterized by a high sensitivity to color and care for the texture of the image. In his creative work, Gust often draws on botanical motifs, interpreting them in a subtle yet modern way. By employing definite background structures and a subdued color palette, the artist builds moody compositions that aim to bring interior spaces tranquility and aesthetic balance. Grzegorz Gust’s works are well regarded by collectors seeking authentic, restrained art that is crafted with skill, and that brings calm and aesthetic balance to interiors.
