C.A. Wertheim (1962) is a Dutch artist who impresses with a clear formal language and a deep engagement with the theme of identity. Trained at the renowned Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam as well as at the Ateliers ’63 in Haarlem, she developed a distinctive handwriting that is particularly evident in her self-portraits.
Her works – often rendered in black and white – merge drawing precision with subtle reflections on self-image and the perception of the self.
Whether in drawing, screen printing, or mixed media—Wertheim continually explores the boundaries between inner world and external representation. Her works have already been shown in numerous renowned galleries in the Netherlands, including at Cokkie Snoei in Rotterdam.
