The work shows a spring-like motif with rich flora, a group of figures, and a shepherd. The scene conveys a lively, idyllic atmosphere. A. Kowalski was born in 1926 in Sopron, Hungary. He was a student at the academy in Budapest and left Hungary during the 1956 Revolution to relocate to Vienna, where he lives today. Kowalski is particularly known for his depictions of rural life in his homeland and received great recognition for his works at several exhibitions.
