Conklin Endura Standard fountain pen, mid‑20th century, United States, made of marbled celluloid with gold clip and bands, 12.8 cm long and 1.3 cm in diameter, in good used condition and in working order with a solid gold nib.
Description from the seller
A0000003117
The fountain pen is in very good overall condition, particularly notable for a vintage Conklin Endura model from the 1920s–1930s.
The body and cap, made of marbled cellulose acetate, retain a very attractive shine, with vivid colors and well defined. No structural cracks or deformations are observed. It shows light superficial signs of use and small marks typical of the passage of time, visible only upon close inspection, absolutely normal for a piece of this age, and with no relevant functional or aesthetic impact.
The clip and the gold rings are well preserved, with gentle, uniform wear appropriate to age, clearly preserving the original inscriptions "Conklin" and "Endura" on the filling lever.
The lever-loading system operates correctly. The inner bag has been replaced/restored (or pending replacement, if you prefer), allowing its functional use with modern ink.
The original Conklin – Toledo nib in solid gold comes straight, well aligned and free of cracks. It preserves its crisp engraving and offers a smooth writing experience, with the slight flexibility characteristic of vintage Conklin nibs, ideal for both everyday writing and a classic experience.
Overall, this is an authentic piece, well-preserved and fully representative of Conklin's manufacturing quality during its golden era, very suitable for both collection and everyday use.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
Good auction!
