Montblanc Masterpiece 644-G fountain pen with a black resin body and gold-plated cap, 14K gold nib marked 4810, piston filling, 13.5 cm long and 1.2 cm in diameter, made in Germany in the mid-1950s, in good used condition with minor signs of wear and confirmed working order.
Description from the seller
A0000003172
The Montblanc Masterpiece 644-G fountain pen is presented in very good overall condition, maintaining the elegance and presence inherent to this classic model from the 1950s.
The black resin body retains a deep, even shine, with slight superficial micro-scratches characteristic of use and the passage of time, visible only under certain light, with no cracks, deformations, or visible repairs.
The gold-plated cap, with its characteristic longitudinal knurling, is well preserved, with a uniform shine and very moderate wear consistent with the piece’s age. The gold rings are complete and properly seated. The Montblanc emblem on the top is intact, well centered, and with a beautiful ivory tone typical of the era.
The 14K gold nib, stamped 4810 with the Montblanc logo, is presented complete and original, with no cracks or visible deformations, preserving a very attractive natural patina. The ebonite feed is the correct one for the model and is intact.
The piston-filling mechanism is present and complete. Its internal operation has not been verified, so, as is typical for vintage fountain pens, a review or maintenance prior to continued use is recommended.
All in all, it is an authentic fountain pen, well cared for and with excellent presence, highly suitable for both a collection and use after inspection, faithfully reflecting the quality and prestige of the Montblanc Masterpiece line.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
