Description from the seller
"Pollywog" is a part of the series: JELLY'S by photographer Ursula van de Bunte. This piece is printed with high-quality ink on Hahnemuhle Baryta and is mounted on aluminum.
The Jelly’s – Images full of gentleness, vulnerability, and femininity. These homemade creations consist of 90% water, just like humans. In these translucent forms, the photographer incorporates unexpected elements. Ursula’s Jelly’s symbolize delicate vulnerability, but also represent the softness and strength of women.
The organic shapes of the 'attractive desserts' reflect the natural beauty and cuddliness of the female body. Transparent and pure, but also unfathomable because you don't know what goes on inside.
Ursula van de Bunte is a versatile photographer. Portraits, still lifes, and nudes are also her subjects, each showcasing her individuality: always unconventional and with a specific use of light that evokes the paintings of the masters from the Golden Age, such as Rembrandt. Her photos intrigue; they are stylized and modern, yet they exude a classical atmosphere and a certain nostalgia. Ursula lives and works in a monumental building in the Hanseatic city of Kampen.
