AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Arnaldo Pomodoro was born in Montefeltro in 1926 and spent his childhood and formative years in Pesaro. Since 1954, he has lived and worked in Milan. His works from the 1950s are reliefs characterized by a very unique 'writing' style, unprecedented in sculpture, which has been interpreted in various ways by leading critics. In the early 1960s, he explored three-dimensionality and developed research into solid geometric forms: spheres, disks, pyramids, cones, columns, and cubes—in polished bronze—are torn, corroded, and hollowed out from within, with the aim of breaking their perfection and uncovering the mystery they contain. The formal contrast between the smooth perfection of the geometric shape and the chaotic complexity of the interior would become a constant in Pomodoro's work.

An emblematic and very rare work by the master, the visual and technical quality applied to the piece is exceptional.

The edition number may not correspond to the photograph number.

The provenance of the artwork is from the Galleria Grafica Manzoni, which issues the certificate of authenticity.
