Description from the seller
Francesco Nesi (1952 - ) was born in Tuscany, in San Casciano Val di Pesa, on September 30, 1952, and currently lives and works in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa. He is a self-taught painter. His love for art has driven him to paint continually, so much so that it has become a real job, making Nesi a full-fledged painter. The docile Tuscan nature constitutes the foundation of the artist's works, together with the culture inherent in this land. The Middle Ages and the Renaissance of Florence cannot leave one indifferent; the Ponte Vecchio, the Palazzo della Signoria, and the Duomo are revisited by Nesi with his personal sensibility, in a perspective sometimes exquisitely deformed. In 1985 he received his first and most important prize: the Bargellini Prize; followed by a solo exhibition at the National Library of Florence. In the Sala dei Cinquecento at Palazzo Vecchio he received the Firenze Fiorino d’Oro painting award. At first reading, it may seem easy to interpret, but it is not at all. His characters are sometimes interpreters of a happy dream, but they also express a search for the many questions of life. Still, his works always carry a pleasantly encouraging message and are often ironic and playful as well.
A journey on the wings of imagination through the works of the Tuscan artist Francesco Nesi (San Casciano Val di Pesa, 1952) inspired by The Little Prince. From May 11 to June 6, 2021 Lu.C.C.A. Lounge & Underground hosts the solo exhibition My Little Prince. Infinite Journey, curated by Maurizio Vanni and Filippo Lotti.
Created in collaboration with Fuori Luogo and sponsored by the Municipality of Lucca, with partner The Lands of Giacomo Puccini, the exhibition presents works that reference Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's masterpiece, bringing it to life with new figures and exploring the theme of travel—not only physical, but also inner.
The painting is a poly-material serigraphy on Tintoretto paper weighing 350 g/m².
The framed picture measures 45x48.
