Signed in the upper left: Properzj Sandro 1922
Born in L'Aquila, Abruzzo, in 1883. After leaving the technical institute, he pursued artistic studies and earned his diploma at the Brera Academy in Milan, where he also attended a life-drawing course and a course in decoration. He devoted himself to theatrical set design and to cinema, directing large historical or fantastical reconstructions such as Dante's Inferno and The Sacred Bible, which were among the most impressive films produced in the immediate postwar period (1920). He exhibited, with public and critical acclaim, at the Venice Biennale and at Milan's Permanent Exhibitions, as well as at watercolorists' exhibitions, etc.
Good preservation condition, as it is protected by glass.
Packaging with polystyrene and cardboard.
