Montblanc Masterpiece 146 (LeGrand) fountain pen in black high‑gloss resin with a 14k gold nib, piston filling, 13.5 cm long and 1.7 cm in diameter, made in Germany, in good used condition with a stable cap repair and light signs of wear.
Description from the seller
A0000001168
The fountain pen is presented in good overall condition, fully preserving the aesthetics and presence typical of the Montblanc Masterpiece 146 (classic model).
The body and the cap, made of high-gloss black resin, retain a uniform finish, with micro-surface marks of use visible only under close inspection and with direct light. These signs are consistent with normal use and the passage of time, without affecting the overall integrity of the piece.
In the inner base of the cap, at the threaded area, it is evident that the pen has undergone repair of an old crack. The repair is stable, properly integrated and does not affect the proper screwing nor the adjustment of the cap, which closes firmly and securely. The intervention is reflected in the images for a completely transparent assessment.
The gold rings of the cap, bearing the inscription MONTBLANC – MEISTERSTÜCK, show a light patina and small signs of use, with the engravings still clearly defined. The gold clip is straight, properly aligned, and with good tension.
The white Montblanc star located at the top of the cap is intact, well-centered, and without any loss, preserving its original color and definition.
The original Montblanc nib in solid 14-karat gold is presented in good structural condition, with no visible cracks or deformations. The tines appear aligned and the overall unit maintains its original shape. The feed and the section show normal aging, consistent with a specimen from this era.
The piston-loading system is complete; its operation has not been tested with ink—a common feature in collectible pieces.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
Good auction!
