Montblanc Masterpiece 142 fountain pen from the mid-20th century, made in Germany, with a resin/plastic body and gold details, 12.6 cm long and 1.1 cm in diameter, featuring the original Montblanc 14C nib and a working piston filling system in very good condition with minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
A0000003177
This Montblanc Masterpiece 142 is presented in a remarkably good state of preservation, especially considering its age and vintage character.
The original celluloid preserves a deep, uniform shine, with well-defined striations and a rich, elegant tone. Subtle signs of wear from the passage of time are visible only under close inspection, with no cracks, no deformations, and no material loss.
The cap fits correctly and retains its original shape. The clip and the gold rings retain a good finish, with very light and uniform wear, consistent with a well-cared-for pen. The central ring engraved “Montblanc Masterpiece” features a sharp and perfectly legible engraving, with no significant wear.
The original Montblanc 14C nib is in excellent structural condition, with no cracks or deformations and with proper alignment of the tines. The surface shows a gentle patina appropriate to its age, with the engravings “4810” and “14C” remaining intact.
The piston-feed loading system functions correctly, with smooth movement and good sealing, enabling efficient ink loading.
Overall, this is an honest, original, and very well-preserved example, ideal for both collection and everyday use, faithfully representing the quality and character of the Montblanc Masterpiece from the early period.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
