Hausdrachen is a 1990 hand-signed screenprint by Hartwig Ebersbach (Germany), limited edition 50/50 on strong cardboard, measuring 84 cm by 60 cm in an excellent condition and not framed.
Description from the seller
serigraph titled Hausdrachen (House Dragon) by Hartwig Ebersbach (born 1940), a central figure of the Leipzig School and a master of gestural abstraction.
Created in 1990, the composition bursts with energy through its use of vivid red, yellow, black, and orange tones, applied in wild, sweeping strokes that suggest both spontaneity and underlying structure.
Executed as a multi-coloured screenprint (Serigraphie) on strong cardboard, this large-format piece (measuring 84 x 59.4 cm) exemplifies Ebersbach’s vigorous, tactile style and painterly approach to printmaking.
The work is hand-signed by the artist in pencil and numbered
Hartwig Ebersbach's artistic practice evolved in East Germany under the influence of the expressive traditions of German post-war art. He shares affinities with artists such as Georg Baselitz, A.R. Penck, Markus Lüpertz, Jörg Immendorff, and Rainer Fetting. His emotionally charged style and use of materiality also resonate with international neo-expressionists like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Julian Schnabel, and the Cobra group.
Hausdrachen is a rare and compelling work from the period immediately following German reunification, reflecting both personal and cultural transformation.
Minimal folding around the edges. Due to size surprasing 100 cm in one lateral for packaging i will send it in a extra wide roller hard cardboard tube.
It is not framed.
