Description from the seller
Overview of the game
Title: Fire Attack
Serial number / Model number: ID-29
Series: Game & Watch – Wide Screen
Manufacturer: Nintendo
Release date: March 26, 1982
Fire Attack is a single-player handheld LCD game from Nintendo's famous Game & Watch line, designed for fast, simple action on a portable device. It was released in the Wide Screen series of Game & Watch, which means the LCD layout was wider so more action could take place on a single screen.
In Fire Attack you take on the role of a fort defender in the Wild West. Your main task is to prevent the fort from being set on fire by enemy attackers.
The enemies appear in two rows:
• Top row: attackers (chieftains) throw burning torches at the fort.
• Bottom row: enemies try to reach the fort via ladders and use a match to set it on fire.
Gameplay and controls
You have four directional/position buttons that let you move your character to the four corners or positions of the fort.
How to play:
1. Move your defender to the position where an attack takes place (left or right, above or below).
2. Press the same button twice — the first time to move, the second time to strike with your tomahawk-like weapon and repel the attack.
Scoring & difficulty:
• You earn points for each successful defense (usually 2 points per blocked attack).
• You can take a maximum of three misses (when an attack hits the fort). After three misses, the game is over.
• At certain scores (e.g., 200 and 500 points) misses are removed or you can temporarily earn extra points if you have no misses.
Fire Attack has two modes:
• Game A: attacks come from three positions and the speed is lower.
• Game B: attacks come from four positions and the speed is faster and more challenging.
Technical details
• Display: LCD with fixed segments (classic Game & Watch style)
• Batteries: 2 × LR43 / SR43 button cell batteries
• Sound: simple beeps for actions (such as hammer blows & mistakes)
• Design: compact and rugged handheld with four front-panel buttons for control.
Because of its simplicity and pleasant tempo, Fire Attack embodies the classic Game & Watch experience: quick reflexes, intuitive controls, and a repetitious difficulty curve.
Legacy
Fire Attack is one of the many titles in Nintendo’s Game & Watch history that helped shape what would later become full-fledged handheld gaming with the Game Boy. The game was later recreated in compilations such as Game & Watch Gallery 4 for the Game Boy Advance, where the classic game remains but with some visual and thematic updates.
Condition: Good Used Game
This handheld is in good used condition and fully technically functional.
Functionality
• All buttons work perfectly and respond immediately as intended
• Sound works flawlessly: clear beep tones without distortion or dropout
• The game starts correctly and is fully playable
