Pair of Japanese Blue and White Porcelain Deep Plates.
A fine pair of Japanese porcelain deep dishes featuring a scalloped, foliate rim highlighted with a thin brown "iron-oxide" edge (kuchibeni). The interior is expertly decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, displaying three prominent floral cartouches interspersed with stylized birds and foliage.
The center of each plate features an embossed (anhua) longevity symbol or "壽" (Shou) variant, adding a subtle layer of texture and meaning. The exterior is left minimalist, showcasing the bluish-white glaze characteristic of the era, sitting upon a neatly finished circular footring.
Date: Edo Period (19th Century)
