Montblanc Writers Edition Leonard Bernstein fountain pen, made in Germany in the mid-20th century, with a black precious resin body, gold-plated trim and a solid Au 750 gold nib, 14.5 cm long and 1.2 cm in diameter, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
The Montblanc Writers Edition Leonard Bernstein fountain pen is in excellent condition, with a very well-maintained overall appearance and aesthetically outstanding.
The body and the cap, crafted in high-gloss black precious resin, maintain a deep and uniform finish, without cracks, dents, or structural marks. Only very slight superficial micro-scratches can be observed, due to minimal handling and visible only under close inspection, consistent with a carefully preserved piece.
The gold-plated elements, including the iconic treble clef applied to the cap and the decorative rings with musical motifs, retain their intense shine, with no plating loss or appreciable wear, standing out with strong visual presence.
The solid gold nib, Au 750, is intact, perfectly aligned, and free of deformities, with crisp, well-defined engravings. The tip shows minimal or no wear, preserving its original geometry.
The piston-loading system operates smoothly and correctly, without jams or play, ensuring efficient filling from the vial.
The white Montblanc star on the cap top is perfectly preserved, with no cracks or discoloration.
Overall, it is a very well-preserved piece, ideal for both the discerning collector and for occasional high-end use, maintaining all the elegance and character inherent to a Writers Edition.
