Description from the seller
Title: The people
School: French (20th century)
Style: Modern landscaping
Technique: Oil on canvas
The work represents an urban view of a small town, articulated through a winding street that guides the viewer's gaze toward the background of the composition. The buildings, with simple volumes and sober facades, are arranged on both sides of the road, creating a silent and contained atmosphere. The color palette is dominated by grays, ochres, and muted greens, reinforcing a melancholic and serene mood. The brushwork is loose but controlled, with a synthetic treatment of forms and special attention to atmosphere and tonal values, features characteristic of French landscape painting of the twentieth century. The absence of human figures accentuates the introspective and timeless character of the scene.
The piece features a molded wooden frame with an aged gold finish, in keeping with the sober character of the overall composition. The frame shows signs of use and patina characteristic of the passage of time, contributing harmony and aesthetic coherence to the work.
Remarks:
The frame comes as a gift. It may be damaged during transport even if it is properly packaged.
Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by an additional charge due to reasons such as being outside a continental territory, excess measurements, or weight of the item. Under no circumstances will PremiArt cover this additional charge.
