Ceramic centerpiece with lid signed Silvano D'Orsi, dating to circa 1980–1990, in good condition with minor signs of age, featuring ivory glaze and an orange decorative motif, measuring 22 × 24 × 22 cm.
Description from the seller
A centerpiece with a lid in artistic ceramic, signed D’Orsi, an elegant example of Italian 20th-century design in which sculptural form and graphic decoration merge into an object with a strong aesthetic presence.
The line is soft and organic, with a rounded and compact profile that evokes a small sculptural form. The surface, glazed in a bright ivory tone, is embellished with a stylized decoration in warm orange hues, composed of fluid lines and curved motifs that recall Deco and Modernist sensibilities. The design wraps around the volume, following its contours, creating a refined dialogue between form and decoration.
The finish shows a light superficial craquelure, typical of antique glazed ceramic, which contributes to the object's material charm without compromising its structural integrity. The lid, perfectly integrated into the profile, is topped by a small central knob that makes it easier to grip and completes the compositional balance.
In terms of size and character, this centerpiece lends itself to several uses: a decorative container, a table centerpiece, or simply a sculpture to rest on a console, sideboard, or living room tables. Placed in a modern or eclectic context, it becomes a focal point thanks to the contrast between the bright white and the orange graphics.
