Description from the seller
1. General Information
Artist: The Beatles
Album: Abbey Road
Label: Apple Records
Catalog Number: SO-383
Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo
Country: US
Released: 1969-1971 (3rd Pressing)
2. Description
The final studio masterpiece recorded by The Beatles, Abbey Road remains one of the most influential albums in music history. This copy is a vintage US 3rd pressing. Unlike earlier versions, this release features the revised, "cropped" front cover. Musically, it contains the legendary "Medley" on Side 2 and hits like "Come Together" and "Here Comes the Sun," showcasing the band’s peak production quality at EMI Studios.
3. Condition
Cover: Factory-sealed, never opened. The jacket remains in its original shrink wrap, which has preserved the cover art exceptionally well. Note that due to the 3rd pressing printing variation, the sewer grate at the bottom right is not visible (cropped). Overall condition is very clean with sharp edges under the wrap.
Vinyl: Presumed MINT (unplayed)
4. Notes for collectors
Edition Identification: This is identified as a 3rd Pressing due to the front cover variation where the manhole cover (sewer grate) is cropped out.
Tracklist Variation: On this edition, "Her Majesty" is absent on back side cover
Historical Fact: Abbey Road was the only Beatles album where the band’s name does not appear on the front cover. Despite EMI's initial concerns that it wouldn't sell without the name, it became their best-selling studio album.
5. Matrix/Labels
Labels: Original Apple Records "sliced apple" labels on Side 2.
Matrix/Runout Side 1: (for example SO-1-383 F-26)
