Title: From rotten seduction
About this work:
The high heel is a metaphor for rotten seduction. After rotten seduction mostly comes regret, and after regret usually happens flowering.
The photographer spent weeks going through her family's trash, letting material rot in her studio, resulting in a pungent smell that only disappeared after two months.

Mariska was born in Suriname, South America. Originally Surinamese, Indonesian, African and a little Dutch, she grew up in the Netherlands. Raised in the beautiful Vermeerstad - Delft, living in Rembrandtlcountry Netherlands, she came into contact with Venice for a commission for a perfume brand and was deeply touched by the baroque art, architecture and history of Venice. All these influences in her life, inspired her. Mariska started to incorporate these inspirations into her own work, with influences from her life and existence.
