Description from the seller
Title: The Reflected Pier
Artist: V. Altieri
Technique: Oil on panel
Dimensions: 30 × 50 cm
Oil on panel in a horizontal format. The work presents a clear and measured composition, built on a rigorous balance between geometric forms and landscape suggestions. In the center, a compact architectural nucleus — essential buildings, with simplified volumes and light surfaces — reflects specularly in a perfectly calm mirror of water, generating a symmetry that becomes the visual and conceptual fulcrum of the painting. The windows, reduced to regular vertical marks, mark the rhythm of the façade like a silent score.
The color palette is deliberate yet harmonious: the deep blue of the night sky or twilight envelops the scene, contrasting with the intense yellow of the horizontal bands that cross the composition and guide the gaze into depth. The saturated greens and warm browns of the vegetal and hilly forms, stylized until they become archetypal presences, frame the central architecture without weighing it down, suggesting a constant dialogue between nature and human construction.
The full moon, suspended in the upper left corner, introduces a suspended and contemplative dimension, reinforcing the atmosphere of absolute quiet. Each element seems motionless, as if crystallized in an interior time, while the pictorial surface, compact and controlled, reveals a sure hand and a search for formal synthesis. The work thus takes shape as a mental vision more than a real one: a landscape of the soul, orderly and silent, in which balance, reflection, and measure become primary poetic values.
