ROSES AND YELLOW VASE is a 70-by-100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. A burst of flowers —roses, peonies and other imagined varieties— rises from three vases of different colors and shapes, highlighting in the center a round yellow vessel that provides visual balance and warmth to the composition. On the striped tablecloth, a lemon, a red bowl and two small vessels complete the scene with the familiarity of domestic life.

The background is divided into flat color planes: vivid yellow, turquoise, and greenish blue, which enhance the vibrancy of the floral pigments. The scene does not aim to imitate reality, but to condense its chromatic energy. The flowers seem opened to the fullest extent of their form, in full bloom, unafraid of excess.
