Description from the seller

- Origin: Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Tribe name: Ngombe
- Material: wrought iron
- Dimensions (mm): 406x3x245
- Weight (grams): 365
- Shipping method: Colissimo

This wrought iron object has been cleaned by me using electrolysis.
Regarding wrought iron produced by African ethnic groups, it is worth knowing that during the smelting of the metal, the heat was not uniform and did not reach a sufficient fusion to homogenize as a whole, and the so-called "sparkle effect" occurs, which is found on all African wrought iron objects. In the photos, and by enlarging them to the maximum, you will notice this effect.
Furthermore, it is important to distinguish between a cut sheet and wrought iron that has been hammered by a blacksmith. It is by delicately pinching the metal and moving along its entire length that you will feel slight bumps, those bumps confirming that it was indeed forged by human hands.
