K.u.K. Viennese silver cigarette case with monogram – Court and Chamber supplier L. Somuchs – circa 1900

Elegant cigarette- and/or visiting card case from the late k.u.k. era, made in Vienna around 1895–1914.

The case originates from the renowned Viennese court supplier L. Somuchs Nachfolger, identified as
“K.u.K. Court and Chamber Supplier, Vienna” (Stamp in its original case).

Material & Finish: Silver, internally fire-gilded
Official Austrian silver hallmarks present (Vienna official stamp)

High-quality craftsmanship
Exterior black lacquer / enamel
Fully gold-plated on the inside (typical for high-quality cigarette cases of the era)

Special feature: On the front there is an applied silver monogram ‘E.W.’ on a gold background.
This is a custom, one-off assignment, not a mass-produced item.

Original case: The cigarette case is supplied in the original presentation/storage case, inside with the manufacturer’s imprint 'K.u.K. Hof- u. Kammerlieferant – L. Somuchs Nachf. Wien'

Condition: Mechanism in perfect working order, lid closes cleanly, inner gilding well preserved with age-related patina, typical signs of use for its age, lacquer chippings at the corners (see close-up photos); fabric in the case is age-stained.

Overall good, original collector's condition, not restored.
