Emilio Scanavino was born in Genoa on February 28, 1922, to Sebastiano Scanavino and Maria Felicina Sterla. His death on 28-11-1986 in Milan-1953
Scanavino receives the Gaetano Ballardini Award at the 11th National Ceramic Contest of Faenza and participates in the 8th Lissone Prize for Painting.
1954
He is awarded at the 8th Michetti Prize in Francavilla al Mare.
In the summer he participated in the first edition of the International Ceramics Meetings organized by Asger Jorn in Albisola, with Karel Appel, Corneille, Matta, Enrico Baj, Lucio Fontana and Sergio Dangelo. 1960-61
Presents a solo exhibition in Brussels at Galerie Aujourd’hui, Palais des Beaux-Arts.
You are invited to the XXX Venice Biennale with a personal room in the central pavilion.
He wins the Spoleto Prize, the Sassari Prize, the Valsesia Prize, and the Lignano Prize.
He travels to the United States, visits New York, and exhibits in the exhibition The New Generation in Italian Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Dallas. His work is still on display in France, in Paris, at Galerie Charpentier and at the Galerie Internationale d’Art Contemporain.
