Roberto Sebastian Matta (Santiago, Chile, 1911 - Civitavecchia, 2002), Movements, etching on paper, 50 x 35 cm, dimensions of the printed area 27 x 17.5 cm, overall dimensions with the frame 53 x 42 cm, numbered 14/100, hand-signed at the bottom right.
Roberto Sebastian Matta is one of the leading figures of abstract expressionism and surrealism worldwide. His travels in Europe and the United States and his encounters with figures such as René Magritte, Salvador Dalí, and Pablo Picasso expanded Matta's painting experience well beyond the borders of Chilean art culture, establishing him as an internationally significant personality. His works are featured in all major museums around the world and are highly sought after by collectors.
The work in question is a rare screenprint, signed by the artist in the original, and made even more valuable by the extremely limited edition of 100 copies.
The work is in fair condition. It should be noted that there are evident signs of oxidation on the paper, as visible in the photograph, both on the front and on the back.
