This is a charming Showa period Japanese bronze candle holder with a practical, functional design.
The piece features a wide drip tray to catch melted wax, with a sharp central spike to securely fix the candle in place. A particularly nice detail is that the upper dish section can rotate, adding both convenience and a well-made touch.
It stands on three legs and can be placed securely on a table or on the floor. At the same time, one of the legs is extended into a long handle, allowing it to be comfortably held and carried while the candle is lit, so the light can be moved around as needed.
It has a beautifully aged surface with light scuffs from age, along with a charming green patina. There is also a small amount of candle residue remaining on the spike, as shown in the photos.
