The Monte Rosa line of fountain pens were made by the famous German pen maker from 1952 to 1959. The lip of the cap has the characteristic wavy golden trimming of the 1950s Monte Rosa line of pens, and the cap is marked with"Monte Rosa" in cursive writing, and "Montblanc" in a print font. The nib is marked "Monte Rosa, 14C, MONTBLANC" and has the Monte Rosa wavy lines on it as well. The blind cap at the end of the pen is marked with an M, for the medium nib size and the arrow symbol denoting an oblique nib, and 042G, signifying the model and that the nib is made from real gold. The piston works flawlessly and the pen draws ink with no problems.
