Abstract modern bronze sculpture with a central pâte de verre glass element, signed LOHE on the foot, titled Uil translucent bronze french, France, 1990s, 23 cm high, 10 cm wide, 8 cm deep, 956 g, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
A remarkable abstract sculpture executed in bronze, combined with a central element in glass paste. The glass paste section displays a rich play of colors in shades of amber, green, and blue, with flowing patterns and natural inclusions.
A pronounced aesthetic feature is the translucency of the glass paste: when light shines through from behind, a warm, depth-enhancing and vibrant effect arises, making the sculpture visually come to life.
The bronze design is organic and powerful, with a deliberately rough and artisanal surface that beautifully contrasts with the smooth, translucent glass element. The whole rests on a triangular, hollow bronze base, which provides stability and a balanced composition.
The sculpture is signed “LOHE” on the base and can be attributed to Yves Lohe. In the 1990s he meets Werner Manesse, a key moment in his artistic development. From this period a long-cherished ambition comes to fruition: to combine glass and bronze within a single sculptural form. This work closely aligns, both in content and technically, with that phase in his oeuvre.
