AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Gérard Gouvrant, born in Paris in 1946, is an admirer of Bernard Buffet. This influence is characterized by a highly linear expression in which the line work tends to dominate color.
After intensive drawing studies, he began exhibiting his paintings from a very young age. He was soon invited to fairs in Paris, as well as in Cannes, Deauville, and Le Touquet.
After using acrylics, the artist turned to oil painting. He creates the black lines that surround the shapes using the 'straddle', a long-haired marten brush to which he attaches an extender, which is like an extension of his hand.
Their career opened up to an international level with exhibitions in Switzerland, Luxembourg, the United States (Hemisphere Gallerie in Hallandale, Galerie Transoceana in Chicago, Sudio Gallery in Washington), then in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul...
Some of their paintings are beginning to fetch an attractive price at auction houses.
